Orra Vocal Combines Manual Pitch Correction with an Eight-Effect Vocal Chain
Orra Audio has released Orra Vocal, a vocal processing plugin that combines graphical pitch correction with eight integrated effects. Its TUNE editor displays detected vocal notes on a piano roll, allowing users to correct an entire performance or adjust individual notes by hand. The built-in processing chain covers vocal cleanup, equalization, saturation, compression, doubling, delay, and reverb.
TUNE is the centerpiece of the plugin. After analyzing a recording, it displays individual notes for editing. Users can adjust pitch, timing, vibrato, drift, level, and formants, while GLIDE controls pitch transitions between adjacent notes. The editor also supports note splitting, merging, and quantization.
Manual Pitch Editing and Vocal Processing
Orra Vocal offers more than automatic pitch correction. Users can split and merge notes, adjust their timing, and reshape pitch transitions between notes. According to Orra Audio, notes left untouched retain their original pitch and timing, while consonants and breaths remain unaffected by the correction process.
The integrated processing chain contains eight modules:
- CLEAN: Reduces breaths and noise between vocal phrases.
- EQ: Eight-band parametric equalizer with dynamic processing.
- SAT: Five-band saturation.
- COMP: Vocal compression.
- DOUBLE: Creates up to four detuned vocal copies.
- DELAY: Tempo-synchronized delay.
- REVERB: Five reverb types.
- OUTPUT: Provides level control, de-essing, vocal riding, and metering.
AUTO SETUP analyzes the vocal and establishes initial settings for the processing chain. Each module also includes A/B comparison, DELTA monitoring, and MATCH for loudness-matched comparisons.
ARA 2 Support and Zero-Latency Processing
Orra Vocal supports ARA 2 in its VST3 and AU versions, allowing compatible DAWs to access vocal clips directly for analysis and pitch editing. In DAWs without ARA support, users can switch to TRANSFER mode, which records the vocal inside the plugin during playback. The resulting take can then be analyzed and edited.
According to the developer, Orra Vocal adds no processing latency. Pitch analysis runs in the background, while the effects chain is designed to operate without delaying the vocal signal. This makes the plugin suitable for recording and monitoring workflows, although its graphical pitch-editing process is not a conventional real-time tuning effect.
Orra Vocal is available for Windows and macOS in VST3 and AAX formats, with AU support on macOS. It requires Windows 10 or later (64-bit) or macOS 10.13 or later. Supported DAWs include Pro Tools, Cubase, Logic Pro, REAPER, Studio One, Ableton Live, and FL Studio. ARA 2 integration is available in compatible applications, while other DAWs use TRANSFER mode.
Pricing and Availability
Orra Vocal is currently available for an introductory price of $35 USD, reduced from its regular price of $49. The offer runs through November 17, 2026.
The plugin comes with a perpetual license that supports activation on up to three computers. A 14-day trial with full functionality is also available. System requirements and download options are provided on the Orra Audio website.
By combining note-level pitch editing with an eight-effect vocal chain, Orra Vocal brings tuning and vocal processing into a single plugin. It offers an alternative to workflows that rely on separate pitch-correction and vocal-processing tools.
