Pine DSP has released Blox Rack, a modular effects plugin that combines six processors in a single configurable rack. It features nine processing slots, serial and parallel routing, and built-in modulation tools for mixing and sound design. Blox Rack is available for Windows and macOS, with an introductory price of $49.
A Modular Rack With Six Processing Modules
Blox Rack includes six processors: Blox EQ, Blox Compressor, Blox Chorus, Blox Reverb, Blox Delay and Blox Exciter. Each is also available as an individual DAW plugin, while the rack allows users to combine multiple processors within a single interface.
The interface uses a 500-series-inspired vertical layout with nine module slots. Users can rearrange modules, load multiple instances of the same processor, and configure serial or parallel signal paths. This allows the rack to handle conventional channel processing as well as more complex parallel effects chains.
A dedicated horizontal editing panel provides a larger graphical interface for shaping EQ curves and accessing the processor’s ducking and envelope controls. Blox EQ supports high-pass, low-pass, shelving, notch, band-pass and bell filters. Each band can operate in stereo, Mid or Side mode.
Modulation and Processing Features
Blox Rack includes four assignable LFOs, an envelope follower, six macro controls and an X/Y pad. These modulation sources can control parameters across the rack, allowing effects to respond to incoming audio or follow programmed modulation patterns.
Blox Compressor offers three operating modes: Smooth, Punch and Clamp. It also features an external sidechain input, sidechain high-pass filtering and an adjustable Knee control. Blox Exciter provides three distortion modes — Reel, Glass and Ember — with Hysteresis and Bias controls available in Reel mode for tape-style saturation.
Blox Reverb features Freeze and ducking functions, while Blox Delay offers Normal, Ping Pong and Diffuse modes, tempo synchronization and a Wash function for shaping its repeats. Blox Chorus uses a three-stage design with Spread, Tone, Character, Rate and Depth controls.
Additional monitoring tools include Auto Gain, which helps match processed and unprocessed levels, and Delta monitoring, which isolates the difference between the original and processed signals.
Compatibility and Pricing
Blox Rack is compatible with Windows 10 and later and macOS 13 and later, supporting both Intel and Apple Silicon Macs. Plugin formats include VST3, AU and AAX on macOS, and VST3 and AAX on Windows.
Blox Rack is available now for an introductory price of $49, down from its regular $79 price. The offer runs through December 14, 2026. The license includes all six individual processors, while existing Blox plugin owners are eligible for additional discounts.
With nine configurable slots, serial and parallel routing, and rack-wide modulation, Blox Rack combines conventional mixing processors and creative effects in one plugin environment. It may appeal to producers and engineers looking to build flexible processing chains without loading multiple separate plugins.
