Does Abyss II support sample import?
Yes. You can drag audio into Abyss II for timbral analysis and use the resulting Tone Colors as synthesis material. This is different from conventional sample playback: the source recording is analyzed and transformed rather than simply mapped across the keyboard.
Can you turn a sample into a synth sound with Abyss II?
Yes. Abyss II analyzes the imported audio and converts its timbral information into Tone Colors that can be played and explored inside the synth. It is not conventional sample playback: the recording becomes source material for a new playable sound.
Is Abyss II a replacement for Serum or Pigments?
No. It serves a different purpose. Serum and Pigments are better when you already know how you want to build the patch; Abyss II is more useful when you want to explore the sound itself and move between related timbres quickly.
Can Abyss II be used in a professional mixing workflow?
