That makes claims such as “extremely low CPU usage” or “zero-latency performance” difficult to substantiate. Sample count is not a useful proxy for CPU or memory requirements either; streaming architecture, preload settings, disk performance, and the number of simultaneously active voices matter more.

For normal DAW work, compatibility is less of a concern. Sonic Atlas supports AU, VST3, and AAX on macOS and Windows, covering the main plugin formats used in professional music production.

Large scoring templates are a different case.
